Love Me Do

I was intrigued by the challenge on Passion for ProMarkers. We are asked to make a card with reference to a Beatles song. I came across this image which i had printed on to parchment paper but had not gotten around to doing anything with. So here is my card for this challenge. I used my AquaMarkers for the colouring as they work well on parchment paper.

Happy Birthday Hubby

Just want to wish my hubby a happy birthday, it is the Big 60 for him.As it happens it is also a public holiday called Heritage Day in my native country of South Africa. South Africans celebrate today with their families and a lot of them have the traditional braai (barbeque). I found this perfect image for his card on Justinklined. I used my markers to colour and layered onto paper from my stash.

Finally back to crafting

Had a pretty busy time playing tour guide for my sister with not much time to make any cards. I am now back in the saddle with this Christmas card. The image is from SweetPea Stamps and I have coloured her with pencils. She is layered onto the card with papers which just seem to multiply in my craft room lol. I have kept the layers pretty flat due to mail restrictions.

Thanks Sew Much

Short post today using Meredith Dillman's Fanciful Notions digi stamp and a lovely sentiment stamp I received as a freebie with a magazine. I printed onto vellum and dry embossed from the back, coloured with Pergamano markers. Stamped the sentiment onto vellum and cut out a tag. Adhered to an embossed card.

Summer Roses

This latest release from Beccy's Place is called Bullion Roses Set. I decided to make a gift box using the main image and used the smaller roses on a set of  multi use cards.

The card set image I printed out on coloured card stock and coloured with ProMarkers. All the sentiments were printed and added along embellishments of glitter and flock.

The top of the box was made with the main image and die cuts.

The next card I made on parchment paper, printing the image and colouring with ProMarkers and pencils. Embossed from behind and perforated and cut the lace work from the front.

Never to early to start those Christmas Cards

At last I have made a concerted effort on my Christmas cards. I have my sister coming for a month long visit so August will be a washout lol. We haven't seen each other in 5 years so I am looking forward to some sibling time. Maybe I will rope her in as assistant card maker.
Ok this card was made for a Face Book challenge and I really love the image so I might have to make a few more slightly different. The owl is from Aurora Wings. I have printed onto parchment paper and embossed the owl from the back, the mistletoe has been coloured with pencils and the inner frame is from a Pergamano grid and outer one is a Spellbinders die cut, the backing paper is from my stash.

Lazy Sunday afternoon

Gorgeous day today and I have just written a new post and lost it in cyber space somewhere. Well here goes let me try again. I have just finished a card for a Christmas in July challenge, yes I know it is far to hot to even think of Christmas. The image is from Stamps by AuroraWings. I have printed the image onto parchment paper, coloured on the back with oil pastels and added pencils on the front for a bit of shading. Embossing, grid work and cut work to finish off the image and then layered it onto gold card stock, a doily and a Flourish Emblem die from Anna Griffin.

Happy 4th to all my American Friends

This is my first 4th of July as an American. I was really looking forward to the parade and the fireworks, but, unfortunately Arthur had other ideas. It has been pretty wet and windy here in Massachusetts. No parade so might as well get some crafting in lol. The card I made today used Arden a digital stamp fairy from Spellbindings. She was a joy to colour. I am experimenting with some darker skin tones.Using Promarkers as always, handmade flowers made with a Cheery Lynn die and the borders are from the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis dies.

To hot to craft

The weather has been gorgeous. Sunny days the nights are still a bit cool, but that just means no air con for a while yet. We celebrated my youngest daughters birthday last week. It is a bit of a shock to the system when you realise your baby is now 20, where did those years go, I asked her if she felt 20 she said " I still feel 12"
I won some digis a while back from Sassy Studio Designs and decided to use this image called Pina Colada for her birthday card.

My new favourite Digital Artist

I love the work from Mitzi Sato-Wiuff. I found her adult colouring book and was hooked. Her art is just fabulous and very challenging specially for beginners like me. I chose this Butterfly to colour for a challenge. Used my ProMarkers and my Gelly Roll pens to colour.

Back into routine

It hasn't been easy getting back into routine after my fabulous trip to the UK. The only card making I have done is loads of thank you cards for our family and friends who so kindly put us up in the UK. I won't bore you with all of them. Each one is different, yes I know it would be so much more practical to make them all the same lol, but I find that far to boring. I dusted off some stamps and got to work. I must just add while going through my stamps I found so many butterfly stamps wow, do I really need so many ha ha. Here is the first card, yes you guessed it, with a butterfly. This stamp is really old, I bought it when I first started stamping  about 20 years ago. I used my Spectrum Noir pens, tho after starting with them I regret not using the ProMarkers as the SN ones were quite dry.
The next one is a stamp from PSX (discontinued) the beautiful Humming Bird stamp. On this card I used loads of glitter and a paper self adhesive ribbon.
The last one for today I have stamped with white ink and embossed with fine white detail embossing powder. I then sponged some pale ink all over the stamped images to make them pop and added a Pink  ribbon and some gems.
Thank you for visiting.

Something a little different

The last of my cards for Beccy'sPlace, also a wee bit late.....oops. This one is called Stanley Clown and I decided to make a "box card". There are numerous tutorials on the web and YouTube for this design, it is a lot easier than it looks.

I'm Back !!!!

Had a lovely vacation in England and Scotland, well it was more like a route march lol. So many family and friends to see and not enough time. I have missed my crafting but did manage a visit to a few craft stores ssshhhh, don't tell hubby.
I did try to schedule some posts but that didn't happen so here are 2 cards I should have shown last week. This image is from Beccy'sPlace, called Spunky with flowers. The first card I made was just the flowers printed onto parchment and perforated out to form a 3D bunch. I coloured with pencils and lightly embossed the petals. The border was done on a PCA grid and the centre oval on a Pergamano Multi Grid #20. I dotted some pearls around the borders and also in the centres of the flowers.
The second card I made included Spunky and was very different to the first. A lot brighter and I coloured the image on my computer in  my Paint Shop Pro programme and just touched up some areas with my pencils. I used Spellbinders Dies and an Anna Griffin embossing folder, so there you have 2 cards from me this week.

Start of the summer travels

My next card for Beccy'sPlace is from her Road Trip set. As it happens I will be on a trip when this airs. I have used the coloured version of Beccy's caravan for this card. I do like that her images come in colour as well as uncoloured ones. I fussy cut the caravan and used mounting foam to gift it a bit of a lift. The papers are from my stash and the card fold is one I found in a magazine. The tag sentiment is also included in this set.
as always I appreciate your visit.

Under the Sea

Picked up a lovely freebie from Spellbinding Stamps on Facebook. She is just perfect for parchment work. I have coloured only her skin from the back, using Polychromas pencils and embossed her hair, the swirls and shells then stippled her tail and top. Added some stickles and cut a border. I used my Shell Impressabilities to dry emboss the shells in the corners, mmmm another use for those lol. The backing paper behind the parchment is a parchment pastel rainbow sheet. This for me is the most difficult part trying to get the right backing paper so that the skin looks good because of the translucency of the parchment.

Elegant red and black

I love red and when I chose this stamp I thought she would look quite elegant in a red dress with some sparkles. The image is from SweetPea  stamps and is called the Ice Queen by Marlon Teunissen. I have coloured her with ProMarkers and have tried something new with the see thru cape. I think it has worked quite well for my first try. I used a Spellbinders die and cut a centre stepper card added a sentiment, red and black ribbon and of course the finishing touch of some glamour dust glitter.

What to do with those Practice pieces.....

I have this lovely stamp from Sugar Nellie and thought I would do some colouring practicing. Once I had done 6 different versions of the same image I put them aside and went onto other things. I am sure we all have unfinished projects hanging about in our craft space. Trying to tidy up a little I came across these images so here we go I have finished off 3 of them and will post the others when they are done.
This was my practice sheet
This is the first of the cards I have made from these images. As always I have used ProMarkers. The dies are from Spellbinders and  Memory Box

Happy Easter

Wishing you all a Happy Easter and for my Jewish friends well over the Passover.
I took part in a group swap on Facebook. We had to send our partners Easter card embellishments I had a very generous partner and received lots of goodies. I made this card with some of the stickers she sent me. The gate fold is from Marianne Designs and the centre die cut is Spellbinders, the frame in the middle is from Tattered Lace. I have done a bit of blending which I am not very good at lol.

New toys to play with

Early this year I was lucky enough to win some Spellbinder products in a draw, well they arrived this week......time to play lol.
The 2 products were the Ornate Labels one em-bossing folder and the Create a Gerber Daisy die cut set. I really like the embossing folder it really gives a lovely result and I used the same size label from the basic Label one set to 3D it.
The Create a Gerber daisy I found a little finicky and of course you have to run the dies thru your machine quite a few times to get enough petals, leaves and other bits to make the flower full. Anyway here is the result of my playtime. Thank you Spellbinders for giving me the opportunity to win a great prize

short post for today

Today my hubby and I celebrate 28 years of marriage, his gift to me is a lovely gruesome twosome crafty weekend away in Hew Hampshire over the Labour day weekend, my gift to him was $28  worth of lottery tickets hoping I got the best deal as he has won $5 from the scratch tickets and we are just waiting for the Power-ball numbers lol.
I made this card for him and the main subject is very typical. The image is from Make-it -crafty, the Aussie Santa and I have used the very popular card in a box design. The glasses are Marianne dies and the paper are from Dovecraft Monochrome Back to Basics  paper pack. Hope you like it .....he did :)
